Lili Mendoza, fornicator of minds and perception, is also a writer of fiction. Her short stories and non-fiction have been published in literary reviews and international anthologies. Her raw, direct prose paints a rebellious and bittersweet portrait of contemporary humanity. Mendoza's work centers on her country's negritud  and the stories of the dispossessed; her stories samples the sounds and voices of Panama's ghetto and its people. Winner of the Yolanda Oreamuno Central American Fiction Award (2009). Patent Leather Heart A-go-go is her first book of short stories (2009). Fellow in Creative Writing by the University of Iowa's International Writer’s Program (2013).  Mendoza is now working on Sons of the Silver People, a novel.
