An Hyeonmi was born in 1972 in Taebaek, Gangwon Province. She studied Creative Writing at Seoul National University of Science and Technology. She made her debut in 2001 winning the Munhak Dongne New Writer’s Award with four poems including “Gomgom” [a play on words referring to bears and the word ‘contemplative’] and is active as a member of the poetry group Inconvenience. She was awarded the 28th Shin Dongyup Literary Award in 2010 for Remix of a Parting. She has published the poetry collections Gomgom, Remix of a Parting, and Love Gets Repaired One Day.
