Born 1977 in Paris, France. Au matin suspendu, his first poetry book, was published in December 2012. A collection of three long poetic sequences, it includes a long meditation on the strange death of François Reichelt, who had jumped from the first floor of the Eiffel tower, on February 4, 1912, to try a parachute he had invented, as well as a dream-like exploration of the city as a mirror to a troubled childhood. Alexis Bernaut’s poems were published in several poetry reviews in France. He is a translator of prose and poetry and participated in translating US poet Sam Hamill’s works into French.
